September. Reverse Culture Shock.

This month I start classes of my fourth year of Journalism and Audiovisual Communication. I will live alone in a studio, I don't know yet if I'll work. Weekends are my moment.
I'm starting to think I'm not going to make it. This month wasn't bad (24 movies), but the future is no free time, and the end of the year is approaching fast.

A troubled teenager

"You are a fool, Harry Potter, and you will lose everything". Voldemort is at his highest point of wickedness in the fifth part of Harry Potter, that starts to put some distance from wand fighting and gets deeper into the battle that a troubled teenager has to put up with inside of him.
The last 20 minutes are spectacular. Chasing and fighting as only can happen in the magic world, covered by a veil of mistery and evil that increases from the first minute of film.
The performances' qualities have improved greatly, has it had happened with each new film and the growing of the actors. The only one that disappoints since Richard Harris died is that of Michael Gambon in his role of Albus Dumbledore. The Headmaster moves with too much energy and shows too much his emotions, wandering away from the real character of Dumbledore, the best wizard of all times.

The movie has ambiguous changes of humour, the music being guilty for many of them. And, even though this soundtrack is one of the best from the series, it doesn't fit with the sad and lugubrious tone of the story.

It was all in the preview.

Homer is attacked by the hounds that he had whiped all day, even when he wanted them to rest. Homer is blowing raspberries on a very cute pig's tummy. Thousands of missiles are fired to space from the Earth. And Bart smashes himself against the window of the fast food place where the Flanders are eating, completely naked. This are the most amusing mooments of the movie and, unfortunately, it was all in the preview.
Apart from the mentioned gags, The Simpsons Movie is scarce in the usual humor that fills the episodes of the series. It seems that, being under the pression of having to write a coherent storyline that goes on for almost 90 minutes, and having that story follow a minimum of consistency and development rules, the creators of the most critical with society animation serieshave run out of jokes. And, clearly, if The Simpsons aren't funny they're worth nothing. They're nothing more that silly yellow cartoons with strange hair colour and snouts instead of noses. And that's what the movie is left too every other minute.

The best part: the scene where Bart is skating naked, without his "thing" being seen, because it is always covered by bushes, hoses, cars...
In spite of all this, the audience can't say that it hadn't been warned. Homer already said at the begining of the movie: "I don't understand why we are paying to watch in the theatres what we can see at home for free. And everyone who does it, is a wretch."

Melting in August.

I don't think August will be any better than July, but I'll do the best I can. I'm watching many blockbuster summer movies.
August is gone, and with it the summer and my internship have finished too. Soon the winter will come back. It is my favourite season, I like to curl up under a blanket while I watch a movie. This month, there wasn't a blanket, but I saw 15 movies.

A blockbuster July.

This month I will be able to post some reviews of movies I'm watching. I found a job at a newspaper, and sometimes I write reviews for it, so that's where I'm taking the time from. But first things first: let's start with the month list.

10 movies. I went more to the theatres this month, but I completely crashed on watching movies at home. The reason is work. When I get home all I want to do is play The Sims, and not think aboutanything. Or maybe I go out with my friends, and then I don't even have time for that.

Movi-e-ing back in June.

I have been traveling a lot, but I try to save some time to watch movies. Let's see how I manage in June. I have to move back to Spain from the USA, and in one year you can pile up too much stuff.
17 movies. I didn't do as well as I had expected in June. I have been very busy since I came back home, doing things like looking for a job and catching up with people. I don't want to make the act of watching a movie an obligation for me, so I'll just try to find time to watch them when I'm for it.

I MAY not watch so many movies this month.

I am a bit worried about this month. My year at Drake will soon be over, and then I'm going to China to stay there 23 days. I have the feeling I won't be able to watch many movies. But then, again, I can always catch up during the summer.
And that's it for May. 11 movies. Not too much, and some repetitions, but these are difficult times.
